Introduction
Molluscum contagiosum is a stubborn, difficult-to-cure viral infection that can sometimes persist for several years. The condition though can be eliminated by applying the wheatgrass extract I have used for effectively treating this problem since 1995. The extract, (Dr Wheatgrass Skin Recovery Spray), eliminated my own 9 year-old son's "spots" in four weeks, so just spray it lightly on affected areas, twice weekly, and persevere. (There is no need to increase applications.)
Either topical product (cream or spray) will work, but I find the Skin Recovery Spray is the easiest to apply, and rubbing it in is unnecessary. Just apply it lightly over affected areas and leave it to dry. Dressings are not required, and negative side effects have not been reported. Overall, it works well.
In Figures 1 and 2, a severely affected child has recovered from the infection after just 11 daily applications of the extract (although two or three applications a week is sufficient.)
Based on numerous patients successfully treated since 1995, I can assure you that the spots will disappear after about two to six weeks' treatment.
How does the extract work when so many other treatments fail?
Well, most commonly used medical treatments focus on physically destroying viral “spots”, by freezing, scraping, cutting, burning, pulse dye lasering and so on - and fail.
To me, the cause of the “disease” is not the "spots". Instead, it appears the so-called "cellular receptors" in the skin have lost contact with the brain. If that disconnection can be restored, (as I have observed numerous times) due to some 20 ligands that exist in the wheatgrass extract - reconnection to the brain results in "normalising" the affected skin. In Figure 1, for example, the "spots" have disappeared just 11 days after application of the extract to affected areas.
It is important to avoid over-treating because it is unnecessary. Just a small amount can do much to "re-activate the skin", so apply the spray (or cream) lightly to the worst affected areas just twice weekly, (e.g. Monday/Thursday) and persevere. Elimination of the "spots" usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks.

How does wheatgrass extract eliminate the virus?
Apparently, ligands contained in the extract (20 have been identified), appear to reconnect dysfunctional neuronal pathways between the brain and the skin, thereby restoring normal functions. The brain then responds appropriately. These testimonials support my theory
Why do other treatments fail?
Most treatments focus on physically removing the viral “spots” from the skin by freezing, scraping, cutting, curetting, pulse dye lasering and even applying cantharidin (which can cause blistering.)
Poor or ineffectual results likely occur because the “disease” itself is not caused by the skin lesions. Almost certainly it is due to disconnection between peripheral cellular receptors and the brain which results in the development of multiple skin “water warts” or “spots”. If reconnection can be achieved, the "spots" will automatically disappear.
Apparently, ligand-containing wheatgrass extract reconnects dysfunctional peripheral receptors to the brain, as shown in Figure 1 – eleven days after applying the extract.

How to use wheatgrass extract for best results
Because “less is best” – don’t over treat. Simply apply the extract lightly over the worst affected areas only, (twice weekly is sufficient), and persevere. Not much is required to eliminate the “spots”. Elimination of the virus normally takes about 5 to 6 weeks.
Because the wheatgrass extract works so effectively, numerous other “healing” methods such as cryotherapy, curettage, cantharidin, imiquimod, low-level laser therapy, podophyllotoxin, tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide, dilute povidone-iodine, potassium hydroxide, salicylic acid directed at the "spots" are quite unnecessary.
Last, but not least, the wheatgrass extract is perfectly safe to apply to the skin of all ages - from infancy to adulthood.
